Dear Friends of Rita’s Rainbows,
Rita’s Rainbows closed on Rita’s Birthday, September 30th, the end of our 2024 fiscal year.
After Rita’s tragic accident that took her life at 16 years old, we wanted her memory to be a blessing and her legacy of love to continue. We worked hard for 2 years on fulfilling that mission and we were able to receive Rita’s Rainbows 501c3 status 16 years ago in 2008. Looking back over the years we are thrilled at all the wonderful work that has been accomplished in Rita’s memory and we know she would be as well. We are happy to report that Rita’s Rainbows has been able to carefully distribute $700,000.00 to children in need, over our 16 years of operation.
We want to reassure any of you who have recently made donations that every penny of your generosity is going directly to the children. We anticipated our collaborations with other organizations and we have fulfilled their needs just as we have done in the past, just a little ahead of schedule. You can see that reflected in the project list.
We want to extend our deepest gratitude to all those who helped us make Rita’s Rainbows a reality. Our Board Members, Officers and Volunteers have given their time and talent freely and generously. Our President, Mary Holliday and our Treasurer, Donna Murrell have been invaluable in keeping Rita’s Rainbow’s going. We couldn’t have asked for a more dedicated group of people to be a part of Rita’s Rainbows and we are so grateful for them. Our Donors made all of it possible by their continued generosity and selfless giving. Each and every one of them is appreciated more than they will ever know.
It was time for Rita’s Rainbows to close. Of course, some sadness comes with this decision, but it is time for new chapters in all our lives. It is time for us to support all the other wonderful organizations that help children in need, and we encourage you to support them as well. We hope you will remember our dear Rita Marie as we all continue in our acts of generosity, kindness and love.
Always remember- love selflessly!
